[Help] - start-up disk scan wont go away!

my pc was not shut down normaly so when i turned it on it scans the disk for errors but the problem is that it wont go away,it scans the system everytime it starts.and there is nothing in my startup(msconfig).

Does this scan finish or you cancel it each time?

What operating system are you using?

If win xp, then do a thorough scan of the drives (with all options checked using scandisk) that are being scanned on startup from within windows. if the drive or partition is your os drive or partition, then let it do a thorough scan on startup.

itried scanning through right-click>properties>tools with all options and it said it will scan in next start-up and still it wont go away.

i will try that command symbiosys.

edit: ok i tried the chkntfs /d in command line and it still goes on.

any help out here? :}
