  1. Will the "net use" windows command work for what you require to do. This can be placed in batch files, login scripts etc.. The syntax of this command is: NET USE [devicename | *] [\\computername\sharename[\volume] [password | *]] [/uSER:[domainname\]username] [/uSER:[dotted domain name\]username] [/uSER:[username@dotted domain name] [/sMARTCARD] [/sAVECRED] [[/DELETE] | [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]] NET USE {devicename | *} [password | *] /HOME NET USE [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}] With this you can map your drive, set re-connect at logon and disconnect your drive.
  2. Hope somebody can help me out. I have a user who has a color spreadsheet which needs to be printed out to a color printer, but when it is printed, it's black and white. ~Even the print preview shows it in grayscale. I have checked the page settings and the printer settings, but all seems fine. When opening a document in word with color text, it's printing fine. When I forward this document to another user's pc, it's printing out fine to the same color printer. Have checked on Microsoft's website, but couldn't find anything. Any information or people who had the same issue?
  3. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DISABLE THE ANTI-VIRUS OR WINDOWS FIREWALL?
  4. Perhaps you should try to install windows with the minimum required hardware. Remove any sound cards ect. which is not neccesary for you computer to boot and only leave the RAM, 1 HDD, CD Drive and display. You can always when setup is done, install additional hardware. In Windows setup, delete all partitions and create one parition. Remember to press F6 when promted to do so, then you will be given the oppertunity to load the correct SATA drivers from a floppy before setup reboots. Did you try to install Windows on your hard drive but on another machine?
  5. If it's a problem with the device driver for the SATA drive, you need to press F6 when promted at the start of the Windows XP Setup in order to load the correct driver during setup. If you have more than one SATA drive installed, there might even be a conflict between the boot controller and another controler or between SCSI drives. You will then need to unplug one. The last thing it might be, but very unlikely, is a boot sector virus. Good Luck!
  6. Have you tried to run scandisk from within Save Mode and then reboot? If this doesn't help, Google gave me the following result: http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-10149-0.html?...ssageID=1284407 I suppose in all the commands that is being used, "d" represents your drive that is being scand each time windows boots. Good Luck!
  7. Have you tried using an other USB port or plugging an other USB device into the port you are trying to use? Think best will be to test the scanners on an other PC and then try an PCI USB2.0 card in yours. What O/S are you using? In Windows 2000 you can also try to go to add/remove hardware in control panel and uninstall your scanner and/or USB drivers there. Even if it is not listed in Device Manager, it will still be listed here and be on the pc for simular hardware to use.

    Problem

Don't know if this might help. Run regedit and go to: [HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Desktop] Scroll down in the right pane and at the bottom you will see wallpaper.Value should be "(none)". You can change your logon screensaver here too. Only be sure to export the registry first before making any changes!!!
