Gaming LCD?

hi all,

looking for a lcd that would be good for gaming as well as other things and has a good warranty. now i know alot of the preformance comes from the response time, is lower better or higher (i.e. 8ms or 16ms)?

i need one up to 400$,

now i found one at samsclub for 400 19" 8ms samsung, any good?

if your talking about this, then get it. i have this monitor and there is no ghosting whatsoever.

those do have insane response times but thats it, otherwise they are the same. anything 8ms and under will have no ghosting so just go for whatever you want. but the two that you listed are still vry good.

in theory, the lower the latency the better.

in practice, don't get fooled by response times.

it is my understanding that the response times as posted by the manufacturer are typically optimistic and, sometimes, blatant lies. also, they are measured by the amount of time it takes to switch from black to white, which is typically fast. however, changes from other shades of colors can take much longer. in short, an 8ms panel doesn't mean there won't be ghosting.

a good source of info is tomshardware and whatever user reviews you can find.

yes, you may get some but if most likely you wont unless you get a low end one
