Guest phalacee
While working for an Educational College here in Perth, I was given access to a copy of Altiris Rapid Installer, a program that allows you to create a baseline image of your hard-drive(s) and registry, when that is complete, you install an application, rebooting when ever you need to, and then re-run the Rapid Installer, which scans the computer for changes. It then compiles these changes into an executable file, which can be given the option to run without user interaction. Why am I telling you all this? Because I've already done all the ones I use on all my machines and now I have run out of applications to create silent installers for ...So, I was wondering, is there anything else you people would like me to make for you? There are some conditions on this though:The software must be open-source or freeware. I will not pirate software for you.The software must be able to be installed under Windows XP Service Pack 1 with .NET 1.1 Framework. You will need to be logged on as an Administrator to run these silent installers. I won't be creating tools you can use to mess around with your school computers. You must provide me with a link to the download page for the application.so, fire away ... oh, and these installers seem to work perfectly everytime, no conflicts, no errors. ARI is awesome! Finally, please don't ask for a copy of Altiris Rapid Installer, as it is a licensed product.Installers Available:JetAudio 6.2.4 BasicGet them at: http://www.phalacee.com/msfn/ Edited December 3, 2005 by phalacee
MHz
How does licensed Altiris Rapid Installer compare to the free InstallRite in creating these installers ?Edit: watch out for runtime problems when using these types of programs as the original installer may add runtimes on 1 machine but none on another. ebin25
Jet Audio Basic. I have been silently installing foobar2000 because I cannot get jad6 basic to silently install. Your help would be greatly appreciated.http://www.download.com/JetAudio-Basic/300...tml?tag=lst-0-1EDIT: I usually Configure it to play all audio, and no video. But I can do that after install if it too much trouble. Edited December 2, 2005 by ebin25

Guest phalacee
How does licensed Altiris Rapid Installer compare to the free InstallRite in creating these installers ?Edit: watch out for runtime problems when using these types of programs as the original installer may add runtimes on 1 machine but none on another.Altiris Rapid Installer is a corporate tool, made for large companies so they can do remote installs of software easily. It also has the ability to locate and include any dependencies the files in the application may have, so the runtime problems are non-existent. I have no idea how it compares to InstallRite, as I have never used InstallRite. We'll see how the installers I build compare though, and judge on that. jl73
Hi,I don't know if you want to take it on, but I've got some little progs that would be nice to auto-load. (Plextor plextools xl, asus update, virtualdub, stuff like that). If there's a way to program this stuff in a script program, I will figure it out, but since you're taking requests. A lot of these programs other people might use (HDD health, getright, Promoxitron (small free ad blocker)

SyKik
Altiris Software Visualization Solution is amazing...You can package software up, and "activate" and "deactivate" from a system at will, very very quickly
