mickmack
maybe update definitions? if seriously, for symantec for example, there are downloadable definitions in .EXE format which can be installed silently, or you can update definitions directly in your antivirus. i think there should be something like this for AVG

blinkdt
How about importing a registry setting to turn off balloon tips altogether? If that solution would work for you, check the 'Unattended Windows' "Registry Tweaks Pt 3" sticky for the correct setting.

Thats what I do and it works fine.

tarquel
You can always place the updates in the Update folder inside the AVG program directory, which will install them the next [or first] time the AVG control center is opened i.e. from bootup. If your really clever, you could script something to download the latest update to that folder on first boot etc. using wget or something similar - i just havent worked out how to tell it to get the latest [date] definitions using wget.CheersN.
