Jeremy Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I'm getting everything new for my PC except for the keyboard, monitor and speakers. I have 4 speakers and a subwolfer that came with my Dell PC 2 and a half years ago. I only use two of my speakers, though. I don't really desire "surround sound". I have no complaints about the sound at all. I sometimes listen to music with the speakers but usually I use my headphones, and with gaming. I have no problems with the sound in any of the games I play.Someone told me that getting a new sound card would also slightly increase my framerate in games. I told them I didn't think that was significant since I'm getting a GeForce 7800 GTX 512 MB for X-Mas.So my big question is:Do I really need a new sound card???Thanks,Jeremy
ripken204 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 no, if it sound good to you then why do you care? if you got the x-fi xtrememusic then you prolly would notice a difference and might increase a frame but not rly. if you wanted to get the top x-fi with the ram and stuff then it would definetly increase the fps but with the graphics card i wouldnt worry.btw, get an evga 7800gtx. im getting the evga 7800gt tomorrow
rendrag Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 totally agree w/ ripken on that... if you don't care, why spend the extra money?
