What are errors in KB******.LOG mean?Did I install successfully?

Featured Replies

Hi all!

sorry if I'm redundant but did'nt found any hit in the forum

I need some help: cannot verify every installed hotfixes are ok,as instructed in http://unattended.msfn.org/beginner/hotfix/svcpack.htm. because I found after finishing installing the winxp with SP2 and with integrated hotfix,I found in "C:\Windows",there are many KBxxxxxx.LOG FILES,and after I opened them,I found there are many "errors" in it.But when I run "Windows Update" in IE,and after the Microsoft web page checked my system,it seemed that there are no left critical/uncritical hotfix to install especially Donnet framework 1.1,2.0 and etc.

My questions is :Is all Hotfixs which I integrated in my unattend CD is installed successfully? What does thoese "errors" in KB******.LOG mean? Thank you!

Following steps have been done:

- Copy all downloaded hotfix files into this directory: C:\XPCD\i386\SVCPACK\

- Rename all the files to the 8.3 naming format

- Copye qchain.exe into SVCPACK folder

- deleted svcpack.in_ and creating svcpack.inf in \I386 with the content:
