The data was written on a CDRW, right? And then, you accidently erased it? Is this right?

If so, no, I dont think is possible. If it was on HDD, maybe installing Previous Version software would do the trick, but I dont think its possible to recover data that was erased from a CD.

But someone else can give you a more precise answer.

Yes, it was a rewritable CD. And I was so stupid to delete my data for this semester's work. Now I am right where I was two months ago. But thank you anyways!

Have you written to the CD since then? If not, try making an image of it. Like with all filesystems, when you tell a computer to delete a file, all it really does is mark the file's header to say 'this file is deleted, ignore it and write over it if you need the space'. This means the file's contents may still be there. I'm not too sure how CDFS works (especially since CDs were never intended to be rewriteable), but it's worth a shot.

Hey man,

Thanks a lot for your reply. What you said was very technical for me and I don't have the software to make a image. If you have time, could you give me a little more detail? Otherwise I will just re-collect the data.

Thank you!

never had to recover files off a CD... but my guess would be to run this tool: RiteRecovery i installed and ran it, looks like it can recover from CD's.. I don't have any CD-RW's to test it on though.

hope this helps.
