Asus Motherboard 865PE Neo2-P(northwood/prescott p4 compatibility)

hey

i recently bougtht the msi neo2-p motherboard w/o realizing it called for a p4 northwood/prescott processor. i was wondering since it said socket 478 in parentheses if any socket 478 processor would be compatible. help!

ASUS doesn't make the Neo2 boards, MSI does.

• Supports Intel® Pentium 4 Northwood/Prescott/P4 Extreme Edition (Socket 478) processors.

• FSB 400 (for Northwood only), 533, 800MHz

• Supports up to 3.2GHz or higher speed

As long as the cpu you get follows the specs above you should be fine.

i believe thats the motherboard i got. my problem is that i cannot find in this country the prescott/northwood processor, but can find other socket 478 processors....is that good enough?

I dunno where on the net, but if you live in Jakarta you can try any computershop in Glodok i belive...or in Surabaya you can easily find as well.....some time I lived there but you can check in Tunjungan Plaza or Surabaya Mall....but where do you live...?
