Finding application which is blocking port tcp

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a problem with win 2k. One tcp port which is used by one of my installed application got blocked.

I have no clue why and which application actually blocks it. Therefore, if you have any tips how I could find out why the port is blocked. Please let me know.

Cheers to all and thanks in advance.

You are right, I should have added those in my previous post.

The application is rational clearquest and it uses port 27000 for retrieving the license file.

Thanks.

Hi,

I tried netstat -a, port 27000 was not listed. Does that mean that the port is not open?

I have also done a pping to the license server with port 27000 and I do not get a reply.

There is no firewall activated as far as I know so how come the port is blocked ?

Thanks in advance.

netstat -a will show you what connections are open to your computer.. if something is running and listening on the port.. it should show in that list

Do you have a firewall running, windows firewall, zone alarm.. anything.
