    Hi, I tried netstat -a, port 27000 was not listed. Does that mean that the port is not open? I have also done a pping to the license server with port 27000 and I do not get a reply. There is no firewall activated as far as I know so how come the port is blocked ? Thanks in advance. Ptigibus

    You are right, I should have added those in my previous post. The application is rational clearquest and it uses port 27000 for retrieving the license file. Thanks.

    Hello all, I have a problem with win 2k. One tcp port which is used by one of my installed application got blocked. I have no clue why and which application actually blocks it. Therefore, if you have any tips how I could find out why the port is blocked. Please let me know. Cheers to all and thanks in advance. Ptigibus.
