Jito463 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Well, that's simple enough:IPCONFIGPAUSEBingo, you have a batch file to display your IP.
matthewk Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 The attachment is a gui program if you prefer. It is as that from win9x.winipcfg.exe

D8TA Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Here is my problem. I have approx 500+ PCs out in the field. I need a batch file, script, something for them to download which would run and read a supplied txt file with either ip address of hostnames of all these PCs. Then once verified send the information back to a common share.Or if I could obtain the ip address and hostname then send the data (ip address and hostname) to a network share or email. I know how to get the ip address and hostname but not exactly sure of the best way to get this information remotely and with no user intervention. Any suggestions or advice??Thanks

D8TA Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 But it doesn't give you the hostname? This would work for the IP address but I also need to hostname for that IP address.
Stoic Joker Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 But it doesn't give you the hostname?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>By default no, but it is a selectable option. So yes it will give you the MAC, IP, & HostName of anything on the network you are scanning.
