displayin local IP

Featured Replies

I know how to display my IP with ipconfig. or using a website when I am online. But I would like to have a little application to display it. Or may someone could help me with .bat ?

Well, that's simple enough:

IPCONFIG
PAUSE

Bingo, you have a batch file to display your IP.

Here is my problem. I have approx 500+ PCs out in the field. I need a batch file, script, something for them to download which would run and read a supplied txt file with either ip address of hostnames of all these PCs. Then once verified send the information back to a common share.

Or if I could obtain the ip address and hostname then send the data (ip address and hostname) to a network share or email. I know how to get the ip address and hostname but not exactly sure of the best way to get this information remotely and with no user intervention. Any suggestions or advice??

Thanks

I use Angry IP Scanner for that, it requires no install (so runs great from a thumb drive) and will give you a list of everything with a MAC address in a given IP address range.

But it doesn't give you the hostname?

This would work for the IP address but I also need to hostname for that IP address.

But it doesn't give you the hostname?

By default no, but it is a selectable option. So yes it will give you the MAC, IP, & HostName of anything on the network you are scanning.
