Suggestion for "Member Contributed Projects" area

When you view each section you see a ton of pinned post but not one of these sections has a "What is PROJECT_NAME about" thread for people visiting in these section to know what the heck the application is about.

Everyone knows I been around for a long time but other than nlite I couldn't tell you what the other programs do.

My suggestion is to:

Have each section link directly to a detailed post with screenshots and explanation about the application. The thread should be pinned or linked from the main forum index in a URL placed under each topic/section name.

That would be a good idea. It would help new members find out about the basics of what programs are meant to do, and would help reduce the number of posts that spawn from confusion.

I think that this is an excellent suggestion for all sections - not just the "member contributed".

Downside is that it would need volunteers to write the stickies.
