yes, u can get a ramdrive/ramdisk or u can get a 15k hdd in raid0

wow i'd heared about Hibernation but never used it

but when i used it i was amazed!! it is great... but it prompt me for a password

to unlock the computer... can i get ride of prompting ??

also, what about the time from pressing power button till windows logo appear

is it adjustable or can i decrease it some how ??

As for prompting for a password, check under the Power Options.

For the second question, are you talking about power down or power up? For both there isn't really all that much you can do. That's about as fast as you'll get your computer to be ready without drawing any power while it's off.

when i returned to use Welcome screen, it stopped prompting me to unlock the computer

and what about ram drive is it a hardware drive or software

i know the idea of the software ram drive but is there a hardware one?

gigayte had a ramdisk at computex but i dont know if its out yet, its 4gigs so it can hold ur windows install. you should be able to be in windows withing a few secs of turning on the comp

Hibernation should fly for you!

Just use what you've got. It's not that slow is it? I've got 1GB of RAM and it only takes me about 10 seconds from pressing the power button to being at a fully functional desktop (specs in sig).

The less RAM you have, the less time it should take, since there's less data to be written to the hard drive.

I only reboot my laptop when I need to really... probably about once a week.

I'm using it now...it is amazing

but in my case it took 18 seconds on desktop

may be the post time is more than yours.

Hmm... it could be the post time that's slowing you down. The post on my laptop is only about 2 seconds, and I know most desktops are longer than that.

But once you're past post, it should be pretty quick.

Make sure your BIOS is set to quick POST, or similar option, and that can speed it up quite a bit. Does Hibernate work better in XP than it did in ME(*Shudders*)? it never worked right. Not to worried about it on my comp though, it can be shutdown, and started up to the desktop in about than 35 seconds

Hibernate works beautifully in XP. It's one of the big leaps and bounds over 2000 (let alone ME).

Hibernation is more often typically used for portable computers (i.e. laptops/tablets) rather than desktops since laptops are often used on the go to quickly check e-mail or the like. To easily do that, you need to turn on the computer, do whatever, and turn off the comptuer, all in a very short time span.

Hibernation should fly for you!

It take me that time from bios screen to a fully functionnal windows !

Just use nlite ( and to be honest I have WD 10k rpm raptor HD)

Hibernation is for bears not for computer.
