lw32205 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Hi,I just reformatted the hard drive of my Toshiba laptop. Now the Windows Pop-up Blocker is causing a slowdown of my computers. A page can freeze while the pop ups are blocked and the pages are slow to load until the pops are blocked. Does anyone have a solution to this? I would be most grateful. Thanks,Larry
Jeremy Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Don't use that. Use Firefox or Opera and AdMuncher. Your 3 best fights against pop-ups. AdMuncher gets rid of the Ads...Here's some info from my AdMuncher:Ad Muncher Usage Statistics for v4.7 Build 18491/1171 *BETA*Adverts removed by Ad Muncher: 12,040Approximate bandwidth saved: 94 MB Counter started: August 7, 2005
Zxian Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 You still use AdMuncher instead of the built in Adblocker in Opera? Craziness...But that's beside the point... what happens if you disable the pop-up blocker (gasp) and browse around? Still the same lag?
dirtwarrior Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 I agree with Jeremy using something else besides IE
