Pop-up blocker Causing Slowdown

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just reformatted the hard drive of my Toshiba laptop. Now the Windows Pop-up Blocker is causing a slowdown of my computers. A page can freeze while the pop ups are blocked and the pages are slow to load until the pops are blocked. Does anyone have a solution to this? I would be most grateful.

Thanks,

Larry

Don't use that. Use Firefox or Opera and AdMuncher. Your 3 best fights against pop-ups. AdMuncher gets rid of the Ads...

Here's some info from my AdMuncher:

Ad Muncher Usage Statistics for v4.7 Build 18491/1171 *BETA*

Adverts removed by Ad Muncher:  12,040

Approximate bandwidth saved:    94 MB

Counter started:                August 7, 2005

You still use AdMuncher instead of the built in Adblocker in Opera? Craziness...

But that's beside the point... what happens if you disable the pop-up blocker (gasp) and browse around? Still the same lag?
