problem 1:

The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error:

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

problem 2:
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0x4d0), which lies in the 0x4d0 - 0x4d1 protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance

Is this a new installation or an old existing one with a new problem? Have you checked your BIOS to disable any uneeded settings there?

What motherboard is it?

Did you disable the parallel port in the BIOS?

Did you Disable ACPI settings in the BIOS?

Have you checked to see if you need to update (Flash) the BIOS?
