Just enable file sharing on your computers. Make sure both computers are on the same workgroup, and set up file sharing on one. In Network places, you should be able to see the other computer (as long as the Computer Browser, Server, and Workstation services are running) and then browse through the files.

(It's a little more complicated than that sometimes, but that's the general idea)

You can use DC++ :)

For it to work, you need a DC++ Server to go onto one computer, have it up and running... and then install the DC++ Client on the same computer as the server... then you just share your files/folders as you please...

And then on the other computer(s) install the DC++ Client and get it to connect to the server you have just started up, and there you go.

Hope that helps :hello::D

Do you run Win2k or XP ?

Then just go to Add/Remove Programs and install IIS.

Then go to Computer Management and make a new ftp site.

After that, just about all PCs on your LAN can access the files you share on the ftp server, thru plain browser itself.

You dont need server2k3, if you goto

control panel > add/remove programs > add/remove windows components

you will be able to install IIS there.

Another addition onto the list - Hamachi.

It requires Windows File Sharing to work, but it'll also allow you to connect to your friends' computers across the internet as though they were on your LAN. It's got messaging capabilities as well.
