Martijn Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Hello everyone,I've been working for quite some time on this site but here it is.this site alows people to release (FREE) software using the Gnutella 2 p2p network. Please review my site and/or give suggestions/comments.
Martin L Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 yeah saw your site before... dont really get that p2p tranfer thing but i'll get used to it i think. Personally i dont like your frontpage, but the forums are very nice and clean.
Martijn Posted August 1, 2005 Author Posted August 1, 2005 Thanks Martin L , do you have a suggestion to make the main page look better?
Martin L Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 in my eyes the blue bars are toooo blue compared with the orange.
Martijn Posted August 1, 2005 Author Posted August 1, 2005 I've tried something else, but i'm very curious how other people like it because I don't realy know (yet) wether I like it or not...
Martijn Posted August 4, 2005 Author Posted August 4, 2005 Wel, i decided to use the style i now use as the primary style, i got used to it
Martijn Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 I have transfered my site to a new host, it also got a new look for both the forum and the site, so they look the same. Here is the new adress.
mark Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Very nice Martijn. You pick up some color with the boxes down the right side and the buttons on the home page. As you can see on MSFN's main page, someone (xper ?) put some graphics down the right side and it is a very nice touch. It adds a little contrast and some color. The only thing that I think you might need to change is that some of your text is to light of a grey. But it's still a nice layout.DL
Martijn Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 thanks I'll see if I can edit the css to make the text more clear.About the images at the right, there is already a image in the upper-left corner of the news at the frontpage of the site.
Martijn Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 (edited) Some updates:We got a new domain: www.g24u.netWe also got a new filedatabase: Here Edited October 18, 2005 by Martijn
mark Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 Hi Martijn,I looked at your sight again. Nice. I had commented on some of the text being a little bit to light a grey. It maybe that since I have a resolution of 1280x1024 that the text is smaller and makes it a little harder to read.DL
Martijn Posted October 29, 2005 Author Posted October 29, 2005 Hmm, yes, I still haven't got around it, I'll look in the CSS again (to bad I can't understand Italian...(Mkportal is Italian))
prathapml Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 It maybe that since I have a resolution of 1280x1024 that the text is smaller and makes it a little harder to read.DLHmmm...If you are on XP, then do try this to make it look better:1. Right-click desktop, go to display properties.2. Go to the "Appearance" tab there.3. Click the "Effects" button (its towards bottom-right of the dialog box).4. Enable "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts".5. In that SAME drop-down box, choose "ClearType".6. Click "OK" and apply the settings.7. Now screen will look sort of blurry, dont mind that, complete the next set of steps.1. Right-click desktop, go to display properties.2. Go to the "Settings" tab there.3. Click the "Advanced" button (its towards bottom-right of the dialog box).4. You will now be looking at the "General" tab.5. You have a drop-down box for "DPI setting".6. Click it & choose "Large size (120 DPI)".7. Click OK & apply these settings. Now, provided that your refresh rate is above 75 Hz atleast, you will see that even at high resolutions, the on-screen text is comfortable to your eye.
Martijn Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 Well, I've made it 11px large instead of 10px, it does look different now...
