I bought a 20 inch LG LCD TV and was hoping to plug my PC into it (I originally thought it had a monitor input but when getting it out the packaging found out this was only a "service" socket :realmad: ). It has Scart, S-Video and analog inputs. My 256MB Geforce FX has S-video and DVI out.

When I use the S-video cable, the quality is rubbish. Would be ok for gaming but can barely read text when browsing (picture not at all sharp and dull colours). Have tried replacing cable but no luck.

Do I need to get a more expensive card? (would this help?/if so, which one?)

Is there another solution such as a converter from monitor port or DVI to scart...?

Any ideas at all? Thanks.

its not the card or the tv, its the svidio, the only reason the svidio was put into vid cards was for watching dvds/movies on ur tv off of u comp, that what i do, the movie quality is vry good but when i do anything else the quality sucks

Not to my knowledge... I have a FX 5200.. and i have my TV hooked up to my system through a s-video connection and viewing video and movies... it is fine... everything else... just worthless... do u really wan't a tv to be a monitor?
