Some cool standalone that I wrote...

I recommand these 3 ones (the others are more specificaly for my own personal use)

Dingue_Calculator_eng.0.1.0 Unit Convertor: Size: 14 Kb

-A simple calculator and unit convertor.

-Convert many units to many many units...

-Convert filesizes (Kb to Mb etc)

-See a full list of the operations that you have been doing in real time

-Save the operations and the results inn a text file

-See the saved file in Notepad.

-Batch processing: process an infinite number of operations saved in a text file and save the results in another text file.(W95 and 98 only)(Optional)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clean_HTM.0.0.5 Size: 3 Kb

-Removes garbage, scripts, unsaved images references and other internet connection triggers from the source code of htm or html files saved on your hard disk.

-No more red-cross boxes and useless automatic connection..

-Creates subfolders automaticaly to save the original files for safety.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FixFileName.0.0.4 Size: 4 Kb

-Rename files by replacing illegal characters which are specific to your language set by normal, international ones.

The wrong characters may be valid within the language set of your computer, but not anymore when you transfer these files to another computer, making the file unreadable.

What's your reason?

Script files are softwares with the only difference that the code is visible.

Is it because there are not ".exe" file?

Is it because it require a WSHost5.6?

Or is it because they have no real interface?

Or because it looks amateurish?

Or because scripts can carry viruses?

Sure it's not realy executable, they don't qualify for standalone software and

I don't pretend they are more than for what it is.

But they work pretty well. They don't make difference with some exe files I"v seen sometimes.

Please note that none of my script us the IE interface which is very slow and not realy VBscript but rather PHP.

Soon I will release a new version of CorrectFileName.vbs

I'm also working on a great project of right-clic menu tools written pruely in vbs...But because it has to work with the registry it won't be realy standalone.

Sorry to disgress...

I dont include them, because standalone applications need to be independant of the windows installation. For example I use antivir to scan virus on any pc with any windows by lauching from cd. If a software use java, vbs, ie, registry, share dll, or anything like that it's not standalone for me. And some newbie need interface indeed...

Thank for the input, sorry to reject your script my friend... :blushing:

Your reasons are very good. It's true that vbs are not stand alone because they depend on WHS and other things.

While my scripts should work on most windows platforms, I stumble on code sample that don't work on my w98se everyday....and it would take dozen of Mb of download to upgrade...
