v1rto Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 I have successfully integrated every update from SP2 onwards into WinXP Pro, with the exception of KB885250 for which I get the error message saying "An error occurred while attempting to integrate this this software update package. Verify that the arcitecture, language and service pack level of the software update are valid for the target distribution folder" I am using WindowsXP-KB885250-x86-ENU.exe and as far as I can tell it is the correct update for my 32 bit build. Any suggestions for this old noob would be much appreciated.
MHz Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 That hotfix was released 5 months ago. You may need to install them in their correct time of release? The hotfix does display the intregrate switch...

Yes found it now and lots more on KB885250, sorry! Thanks for all the replies, no more needed. I will try the svcpack.inf route first and then the starting from SP2 slipstream and working forward to present day when I have a lot more time to spend on it. I suspect there will be 10 more fixes to integrate by then. Good old M$, personally I prefer Xandros 3.cheers, bob
