Viper999 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I am trying to lockdown a desktop so the user only sees the icons placed on the desktop. Is there a way to hide the start button or the entire taskbar. I dont mean autohide as I dont want it to be visible at all. Thanks in advance for your assistance.Jim
firefoxthebomb Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I believe you can do that with Group Policies
Viper999 Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 its not an option in the group poicy editor
bhurtel Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 drag the taskbar below and lock itsimpleehehheheheh
Delprat Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 drag the taskbar below and lock itsimpleehehheheheh<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do what you say, and then press <Ctrl>+<Esc>... Viper99, there are keys in the registry to really lock that taskbar, and it's easy found with google... or take a look at the "registry tweaks" threads in this board, and use the "quick search in this topic" feature (at the very bottom of the posts view)bye

-M- Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Have a look at this: http://www.codeproject.com/win32/AntonioWinLock.aspYou can find a sample program and also the code for it, in case you want to write a program yourself. Otherwise, try the sample tool, maybe it meets your needs.
Viper999 Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 I will give this a shot...http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/905/Thanks for the replies.....
