:D Sometimes take a half an hour, sometimes a little more but i know it will freeze and sometimes not even the ALT+CTRL+DEL works and i have to turn it off by hand.

I have a athlon 1400 - 256 RIM with a GEForce II 64 and playing games is becoming painfull!

If anyone could give me a clue on whats going up with me XP I'll apreciate, because i´m thinking on installing a Win98 partition only to games. :)

Thanks.

I have XP Professional and i didn´t get the SP1 yet.

I have the last updated drivers but i can´t give you more details about that because i´m at the office.

Oh, and i made a clean installation in a formatted partition.

Thanks.

Did you install the latest via 4 in 1 drivers from www.viaarena.com ? (assuming you have a VIA chipset)

Did you upgrade your motherboard BIOS to the latest version?

Did you upgrade to the latest Nvidea drivers?

Check the Device Manager for any hardware conflicts.

Also check sound card drivers.

Is the fan (if there is one) spinning on the video card/CPU?

Also, shut down any background apps like Anti-Virus or Screensavers.

Its getting hot in here ... time to take off all your clothes :)

Heat. Check the heat dude. After a PC runs for a while it can get hot inside. Are things tidy in the case? Like cables not obstructing air flow. Is your case parked beside a heater. Is the power supply clogged with dirt. Things like that.

BTW, It is CTL - ALT - DEL

Welcome to the board morfeu

I agree with MSNwar, I'm 80% sure its the heating, also concidering its a thunderbird and they are know to run warmer then the other AMD cpu's ... If you are planning on buying a new heatsink I'd reccomend to you that a Dragon Orb 3 from Thermal Take are one hell of a deal and u can even OC' some on it.. 1.33@ 1.498 :)

Everything I would try. Also if your video card has a bios that can be flashed do so because the latest drivers for it may not work correctly with the older bios.Sounds like overheating to me also. Not only the video card fan but the cpu fan for sure can cause this.If either fan is the culprit you may need a windows motherboard monitor for your desktop.MBM 5 is good if your board supports health status in bios.Fan RPM's and other vitals are displayed.

Thanks guys, i will take the advices and i'll give you feedback on the results.

I´m not quite sure the heating is the main problem, but i´m going to investigate.

Morfeu.
