gamehead200
I've been trying to make icons with Photoshop recently, but everytime I save it, there is always a black line on the bottom and on the right. I keep saving it as a BMP file, then I change it to a ICO file. How can I get rid of this black line and how can I add transparency?

LS_Dragons
You cannot just change the name to ICO. To get the BEST results for XP icons (with alpha transparency etc) you need to save the image as a PNG. Then you can use many different tools to convert to actual icon files. The best is Axialis IconWorkShop. Very easy to use - but will cost a few bucks for a full version (or you can search real hard and find several freeware tools that are almost as good.LS_Dragons
gamehead200
Sweet! I found this plug-in for Photoshop that lets you make an icon of whatever size you want and then makes it into a .ICO file. Here's the link: http://www.iconfactory.com/iconbuilder.asp (Download the one for XP)And here is an icon I made: http://joker.servehttp.com/msfn/icons/longhorn.zipFor best results, only make an icon of 48x48!
