synecology Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 hey guyswe often repair windows installations when changing motherboards or IO subsystems in servers or client-class machines.i was wondering if it was possible to fully automate this procedure? (start the installation, push enter to install windows (not R for recovery), it'll detect the old version of windows at which point you push R to repair it.is this possible to do?i posted this question in some microsoft support forums and it was suggested to me to try NTUpgrade=Yes, however that seems to do nothing.we will be using this for both XP and 2003 serverany information that you have would be very much appreciatedthanks
Sonic Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 I'm interesting too !!! but for an unattented cd we use OEM preinstall method and it's for new pc only ... for unattented repair I think we must sort of h*ck / "bidouiller" (in french !) the method ....Goodbye.
durex Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 The few times Ive seen this subject come up, ppl have always said it cant be done.... or at least they didnt know if there was a way.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 May work OK with Multiboot, that way u have the ua & recovery console option on the one disk. I believe the rec console in w2k may be a better option as no admin password is required.
