Streaming video

hi everybody id like some insight on streaming video across the internet live or not live..

has anyone in this forum done this ?

and if so what would you say is the easiest way, to accomplish this ?

and also whats your favorite pogram to use to do this with ?

im still saving up money to complete my server and i should have it ready by mid summer,, but the streaming video is for mainly personaly/family reasons like family vids of vacations or kids growing up.

if anybody could give me any helpful advice to point me further in the location then ive been going in ,it would be helping me out alot and id appreciate it..

If you've got enough bandwidth and you're willing to do it from your homepc, you could use VLC media player.
