The only copy of WinXP that I have comes with SP2 already installed on the disc. Other than that, I only have two dell reinstallation cds, and they won't work, because I'm no longer using a dell computer.

Will this disc work? Can I just copy the contents to c:/xpcd and continue as normal? Do I have to workaround this problem?

EDIT: I just found out that it doesn't include the $OEM$ Folder, although I bought this copy OEM. Would I be better off going with a new OEM copy of XP Pro or even xp64 since I was considering upgrading anyway?

go for xp pro or if u go for a x64 machine just choose xp x64.

but also home is good for home users.

If you get an OEM XP CD (HE or PRO) not tied to a specific manufacturer, it won't have $OEM$ folder in it. So that's not going to determine whether you are better off with an OEM XP Pro.

Are you trying to make an uA CD?

It won't. You have to create the $OEM$ Folder and its sub-folders yourself.

Obviously you wont have to slipstream SP2 into your source because its already done.
