SomeoneElse
This is why I only build PC's using ASUS Motherboards Anyways, I did some searching to see if I could help and this is what I found. The sources were not in english so I had to translate the pages with what ever google uses, hopefully the info is correct.Motherboard: Gigabyte 8IGMIUProcessor: Intel P4 478Chipset: Intel 845GSound: AD1981Lan: Intel 82562EZ (10/100) - maybe Intel Pro 100VE?Intel 82562EZ Lan Driver Download:http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...D=1702〈=engSources:http://216.239.37.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=...cial_s%26sa%3DGhttp://pcpro.mytech.it/pcpro/statici/prove...tteristiche.pdfIf it's not 82562EZ or Intel Pro 100VE you can always try contacting gigabyte and asking them. I had to contact them once via email, it took 2-3 days for a reply Here's their contact page:http://www.giga-byte.com/Company/ContactUs/contact_us.htmAnd if all else fails, buy a cheap $10 network card, load it up, connect to the internet, grab the gigabyte download center app, then let it try to find the right drivers like it says it can (I've never used it but maybe it'll work and it's just one more option to try). In the event that it fails, at least now you have it working with a $10 networking card.Good luck.

Seanie's Show
Your friends PC that you are sorting out, is it home built or is it built by some manufacturer like Time or Packard Bell ends, if so that explaines everything, to get the latest drivers etc, you need to goto the manufacturers site of the machine, not the components web sites....if that makes any sense ....some companys like Gigabyte, MSI, PC Chips only make certain boards and parts for people like packard bell, Time etc, and dont list these boards and parts on thier own sites cos they know they're budget and crap and dont want anything to do with them. which is why I will never by a PC from a store.Honesty is the best policy.
