Kangi26 Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Ok, I fancy myself as a guy who can figure some things out sort of easly, but I cant figure out how to send in my desktop pic for all to see. Can you say real newbie?
Geckotek Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 I host mine on my own website, then include a link using the image tags.
Bamse Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 I guess the level here is pretty high, but here's my Win98 desktop. I hate the way XP looks, and I've always looked for appearance like that in IceWM on Linux.Simple is best. But Win98 doesn't have to be ugly (read: default settings).http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/494...0705-screen.jpgHere's another one... I like the color scheme!http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/494...1-screenTux.jpgSorry for the Finnish locale... + I had to compress them A LOT.Regards,Bamse
Bamse Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 I'm using neat Linux fonts on my machine, that's the trick. Currently Bitstream Vera. Too bad the compression ruined them...And I'm heavily into Open Source... dual-booting with SlackWare 9...Regards,Bamse
un4given1 Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 You might need to know he uses Aston Shell replacement:http://www.astonshell.com/does anyone know if this works with multiple monitors? (3) Or, if there is another that works with multi monitors? I run into problems with screensaves and different programs that weren't written to work with more than one monitor. It's a pain. mIRC isn't written to work in more than one monitor.. every time you right click on something, if the window is on anything other than your default desktop then the popup pops up on your default monitor. It's a pain. There are many others that do this too... But, I refuse to give up my 3 monitors. I wish I had more!
civil Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 welcome Kangi26 for the screen process you must add your screen cap as attachment or upload it to a server then give a link to it.
Datalore Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 My DesktopIt's chaotic, yet soothing. I like my desktop simple.
Kangi26 Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 Thanks for the input Civil, but I've yet to see anything that resembles a tab for attachments. There isn't one that I can see even as I write this reply. I do see a button that says IMG, but that requires a URL.
civil Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 i see.as you say the option for attachment is disabled i think.the only way to show your desktop is upload the image to another server and give a link by the
