Have to agree with you there mate.

I currently run a couple of forums on my website, and they are all phpbb. The main reason for this is that my web host has made it extremely easy to set up.

You might want to look at http://damysterious.xs4all.nl/ which has some good stuff for phpbb (plus and plusxl)

CPG-BB is built into CPGNuke, it's a highly modded phpBB and works fine.
