device drivers

Featured Replies

i'm new to this site and making an unnatended install, so i may have missed somethiing here....BUT

how do you extract the drivers from a cd...

i'm trying to get one for my sound card.

when i look in the cd under audio ,there are four folder ,and 19 files

4 are applications

2 are data cab files

a couple of setup applications

there is 1 saying setup.iss

it's all very confusing....do i

copy all files and folders to my \install\drivers\000_sound

or do i serch for all .inf files and copy them into my \install\drivers\000_sound

or do i install my audio and then serch in the windows\system32 file and copy all

the .inf sound files to my \install\drivers\000_sound

if any one has any ideas i would be very grateful...thanks

You've got an InstallShield setup there (I can see that by the fact you have 2 data.cab files).

Use the command line utility i6comp to extract them. Google will provide you with al the information you need ;)

Good to see that your trying to do it by yourself!

That's a very nice lesson to learn.

once managed to get it working with help from HERE.

,then it's time to check out Bashrat's driverpacks wich contains almost everything you want AFTER those your trying now .

even the AC97 ;)

it's the AC97 audio driver...it's intergrated on my gigabyte mother board

Witch "AC97 audio driver"? Witch "gigabyte mother board"? Your answer must be exactly, every alphabet can be important.

ok...the motherboard is ...GA-8S661FXM-775

the sound ia ....Realtek ALC655 Codec chip

i hope that is enough info

All drivers for this audio codecs are in folder \wdm\ - you dont need to extract anything!

thanks htc...i'll try it out tonight....maybe all is not lost after all !!

there is nothing in "data1.cab" because all driver files are in WDM\ folder.
