Playing back MPEG-4 over wireless network

Hello! I recently set-up a HTPC for the living room to play back my video collection (most of these are in DivX / xVid format). Now the collection is in a second PC connected to a Wireless Acess Point. When I playback these videos I get an occasional (but VERY frustrating) skip. What appears to happen is that the video freezes for a split second and then jumps to the next keyframe and freezes again until audio catches up....

what the problem is exactly doesn't really matter... I just wanted to know if there are programs that could buffer more of the video file to avoid this problem. I have Wireless G so bandwidth shouldn't really be an issue as i can copy a 120min movie in 15mins.

Thanks for the help

You should get a wireless router that supports transfers of up to 108 Mbps which are made specifically for streaming media over a network. :)

If you do go the 108 mbps way, your hub and adapter both need to be from the same vendor, otherwise you drop to 54 mbs.

the "108" isn't a standard, but a trick.
