cy.
Hellomy slipstreamed XPSP2 CD has SP1.cab on it... I suppose i can delete this since SP2.cab would contain everything that's in SP1.cabSomeone please correct me if i'm wrongwhat are the files that i can delete safely beside the SP1.cabI just want to get rid of whatever files that SP2 doesn't need. boooggy
not really. sp1 contains drivers or updates for drivers brought by sp1. but some times they are not all contained into sp2.
cy.
indeed. i've just compared what's in SP1.cab and SP2.caband there are files that SP2.cab doesn't contain.will the setup look for SP1.cab if i delete?--I was wrong. SP2.cab contains everything that's in SP1.cabI think SP1.cab can be deleted safely Edited May 2, 2005 by cy.
boooggy
i think not. only if u need some drivers from there....actually i use nlite 99.7 to merge all drivers cabs in just one.
Mchart
It is best if you take an original XP CD (meaning that it is a windows install CD without SP1 or SP2 on it) and then slipstream SP2 into it. That way you won't have to fuss around with that junk.

That way you won't have to fuss around with that junk. my XP CD came with SP1 on itand MS wants to charge me shipping cost if i ask them to send the originalso i had no choice but slipstream on SP1.removing just SP1.cab abd cmpnents folder saved me 30mg i will see what i can remove more to free up the space
RyanVM
txtsetup.sif doesn't even contain entries for sp1.cab after SP2 is slipstreamed into the install source. I'll let that do the talking for itself.
