My defrag is not working

I´m using winxp sp2 and when I try to defrag my hd, it do nothing! No error message, no freezing, just nothing!

I activated many services, but it still not working...

Anyone knows what can I do?

try from commandline

defrag /? will give u options

also, try O&O defrag

I got this message: "Windows could not connect to defrag"

This is a translation of the message. ^^

My windows is in portuguese. Any idea why this happened?

Try a defraggin program and see if you get the same results.

Hiya,

Make sure the DCOM service is started, Windows Defrag can't do anything without it (except open a gui) ; clicking either "analyze" or "defragment" will just do nothing, and no error message either. Command-line defrag will show an error message.
