cmdlines.txt ignored

hi, I've tried searching for answers to this but can't find any.. basically xp setup is ignoring my cmdlines.txt file completely..

i've placed it in the <CDROOT>\$OEM$\ folder and it contains:

[COMMANDS]
"RunOnce.cmd"

The file RunOnce.cmd is in the same folder as cmdlines.txt but it's refusing to run it. I've tried testing it by making the .cmd file create folders. but it's not running.

Anything obvious I've misseD?

put your cmdlines.txt in $OEM$ folder with following text

[COMMANDS]
"RunOnceEx.cmd"

also put your RunOnceEx.cmd in the $OEM$ folder.

Im guessing your problem might be that you have RunOnce.cmd? and your file is called RunOnceEx?

Suggestions

• a spelling mistake
  command syntax incorrect
  OEMPreinstall=No instead of Yes in winnt.sif
  

Possible things to try

• try renaming the extension to .bat it has been known to work
  take the cmdlines.txt out of the loop and use the GuiRunOnce section in your winnt.sif instead.

you could always add a pause line in the batch file to see if its executing cmdlines.txt just having a problem with the batch file.

Thanks for the advice - looks like CMDOW was preventing the batch file from running...

Are you certain it was actually "preventing" it from running, or was it just not showing the command prompt window while it was running... which is what CMDOW is supposed to do.
