WBHoenig Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 A few weeks ago, I started recieving the error message:Stack overflow at line: 80In Internet Explorer. This only occured on one web site: winsupersite.comIt did nothing but was annoying. I reformated my HD and reinstalled Windows XP (for other reasons). Now, as of a few minutes ago, I started recieving the same error message on this website. Does anyone know what it means and how to make it go away?I attached a screanshot of the error.I am running Windows XP MCE2004 with SP2 and am using IE6.soal80.bmp
jmjm003 Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I'm getting the same error on this site.I can browse forums with no problems.I click on a topic to enter it and get the error. So far it has only been on this site and starting sometime tonight.
superk Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I am also receiving this error using ie 6.0,however do not receive error using firefox. I also know that port 80 is the port of choice for infiltration. It also only occurs to me when surfing this website. I wonder?????
superk Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Switched to my laptop and getting same error. It must be with the server this site goes through. Did some google searches and will post back with those results.
oftentired Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Oddly enough I was experiencing this stack overflow today after about 36 hours of periodic cable outage. After completely powering down my Cable Modem and Router for a full minute each the problem went away. I also reset the permissions for the Network in my Firewall.OK I spoke too soon. I still am getting a stack overflow at 80 and then 50 when I Close the TAB for this forum. Now that is a strange thing. However, my Cable Outage appears to be no longer an issues.
snowqueen Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Ha ha i am recieving the same thing and only just come on here, never had it b4
superk Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I wish I knew more about programming. It looks to me like a virus is trying to infiltrate the server(based on google search).
oftentired Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 If I have flash turned off I don't have the problem. If flash is turned on it comes back.
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I'm using Firefox and can confirm that I do NOT suffer this problem...
At0mic Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 I was getting this problem as well. Thought it was just me. It seems to me ok now though
