Two Questions

I have got strange probs.There r two problems which r these

1)My floppy drive has started to make too much noise while auto checking itself i want this auto check to stop!

2) I have one software called talking computer it opened in command prompt b4 but now after i formatted C drive and re installed windows xp it gives me error of this type

Have you checked the BIOS (hit f10 or delete on startup before Windows begins) for the Floppy seek on startup option? I think there should be something for that in there. Look around but don't change things you don't understand. hehe

if you don't use the floppy, you could always unplug it

2nd, norton is set by default to scan floppies on shutdown

when is the self checking happening?

I don't have norton and this self checking will keep going automatically anytime when it likes.

I had a similar problem in my dos class when I had put the a: drive in my path command, so I'm wondering if for some reason windows is looking there for files or something

try a good registry cleaning program like RegCleaner and see if that clears it up
