Recommended Posts

I have used the reg tweaks from the zip file.

But admin still shows at start up, so I have to click it.

I use this reg file:

Regedit:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList]
"Administrator"=dword:00000000

Change the value to 00000001 and the admin logon is visable again.

Just to add, if Administrator is the only account on the computer, you can have it auto logged on by adding the following reg tweak:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"DefaultUserName"="Administrator"
"DefaultPassword"="********"
"AutoAdminLogon"="1"

Obviously change Password accordingly.

LOL@last post!! I wouldn't for one minute suggest using this method on anything but a single user machine with no need for user restrictions. That is why I said if Admin is the ONLY account! But it works fine for me as I'm the only user and my machine is behind a hardware firewall. Valid point though!
