syntax01010
I am curious, as that I keep running into people who swear by wanting or needing SP2 for XP installed, has anyone come across a set of configurations for SP2 for XP that actually makes it behave well yet?My personal experience; I've downloaded, and isntalled, and used SP2 for XP on a few different trial runs since its initial release. Much like a few other people that I know i've run into a large number of issues where various applications, drivers, and games simply refuse to work at all or will work but not properly with SP2. Have any solutions to those types of issues been found as of yet? Or is sticking with XP SP1 still the best bet for that?

Jeremy
I'm on SP2 without hotfixes and I experience no problems. Than again I remove 410+ MBs of M$ Bloat (from the Install CD, not C:\WINDOWS)with nLite. Most people get 1.0-1.5 GBs in C:\WINDOWS. I have like 230+ MBs currently. firefoxthebomb
I use sp2 on most computers that I use. I also install xp with sp2 on all the computers that I redo for extra cash. I have not expieranced any problems with it as of yet really, but I have heard of a few people that have issues with it.
Treeman
SP2 still hates firewire. Most folks have to rename SP2cab to SP2cabold,insert your firewire device, and you'll get the signed SP-1 drivers installed.there are a couple of patches out there, but once the install is dorked, folks still have problems accessing DV camera's & external f.wire drives. Some folks don't have any problem at all.Luck of the draw here for firewire.Treeman
