JamCo
I cannot get a printer to connect on a ClassC network with the address of 192.168.0.229. I address the card and cannot ping it. I have tried on the server and via a laptop with a crossover cable with no reply. I have another printer on 192.168.0.228 and all is fine. I ended up changing the address to 192.168.0.227 and all is fine. The LAN is running on a Win 2000 Server and the Administrator is pretty sharp, he has no idea why the .229 address will not respond. KAndle
What are you using for subnet masks? The wrong subnet mask on the printer could cause the problem you are having. They should at least be identical to the clients. I am very weak when it comes to binary math so I can't offer definitive help. 255.255.255.0 is the standard subnet I use. Search Google for Subnetting Class C Addresses & find a document you can understand if you need to know more.
