MSN Messenger Custom Install

ive made a customized installation of MSN Messenger

where the .msi file has no icons & ive also included MessPatch, which is a small program that has a bunch of options (not made by me)

there is by default a menu called "MSN Messenger" inside the start menu which has an icon for MSN Messenger & MessPatch

let me know what u think & if i can improve anything i will

since its made with inno setup /VERYSILENT will work

ive thought about adding Messenger Plus (i dont use it, but thought others might like the "All in 1" setup of it? it of course will increase the size of the .exe

Hey MCT, I think it would be good to include the patch and also one without the plus patch because some people dont use it and are concerned its still detected as spyware although no sponsor is chosen

There is a question which I might aswell pose to people in this thread being as this thread is suited imo.

With msn Messenger Plus patch, there is a Settings backup wizard which generates a .pld file and you have to restore these settings using the same wizzard, is there a way of getting this to eb done unattended. I can only think of Autoit being suitable atm to lauch the msn program then the plus sub menu etc.

it installs msn without tabs, but rest of the patch is not aplied

and is it possible to use another patch

i use it like this :

start /wait %systemdrive%\install\msn\lhmsn7.exe \S

and a tip for the non english :

install msn 7 in your own language and then go to the msn direction :

C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger

and copy the : msgslang.dll

make is a sfx so it wil replace the english language dll after install

TASKKILL /F /IM msnmsgr.exe
