hijack help

i tried everything i can. iused spybot and adaware (both are updated) and shredder and removed all the bad stuff it found. but then when i log on to the internet, my home page always gets hijacked. and my homepage is about:blank!!! wut should i do other than use a new browser. how do i fix this??

edit: i cant rite clickon the home page either. it says "search for..." but thats it.

when i highlight something,it says "javascrtip" it doesnt say the page

There are some JAVA viruses floating around on the net, try a virusscanner.

Remove any strange enteries, not all!!! If you don´t know what to remove, then post the log file HijackThis is making.

thanks that did the trick!! it was some virus but i updated the antivirus and it was gone!!

update definition and run it 3 times

I had this happen on a customers win2000 machine

I ran spybot, adaware, http://housecall.trendmicro.com/start_corp.asp , norton etc

nothing but a backup, format and reinstall fixed it

if you install the teatimer option of spybot, it should prevent this from happening as long as it's installed b4 the hijack

the teatimer puts spybot in the system tray, and it can blacklist lots of processes from running as well as maintain the home page.

but no, it doesn't seem to be able to prevent the about:blank from entering the system, only from hijacking the home page

about:blank is one I hope I never see again
