I tried to play music and when it opens an error message pops up saying 'Windows media player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, or it may not funtion properly.' ???

Eh no, because it worked before my computer got all messed up!

Strange, but tell me, why would you play CD´s when you can´t listen to music?

Only scenario I can think of is an onboard soundcard. You'll need to re-install the drivers in any event. Right click My Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager. The devices marked with a yellow exclamation mark represent malfunctioning hardware (inclusive of hardware that lacks drivers)
