mmm no.. that don't solves my trouble :(

if u don't understood well, the ntoskrnl.exe that i've AFTER i modified my boot screen with bootskin is the SAME as before (it's the original file!)

boot.ini isn't modified...

the problem is that i can't find out what bootskin modifies for change your boot screen

bootskin loads itself at the time of showing the image of ntoskrnl, that's why the original file is not replaced (you can dig it more if you use regshot at the time of applying a bootskin).

sixpack recommended you a tut on how you can customize your ntoskrnl.exe, that means you could use your bootskin, then manually modify your kernel plus modifype, makecab and replace it on your i386 folder...

smooth... thanks for replies... so i'm f***ed up :)

i've tried resource hacker.. but i've to make a my own set of bitmap to fit it in :|

bootskin does it in a f***in easy way :S

thank you however, i simply think to make my unattended cd, then install bootskin and do what i do everyday :D

That physically can't be, as nothing can be loaded prior to the kernel being started. Since ntoskrnl IS the kernel, BootSkin can't load prior to it.

Doesn't bootskin change the boot.ini not ntoskrnl.exe?
no it doesn't i'm sure

@Alanoll, well maybe i didn't elected the words right, bootskin don't modify the kernel and don't modify the boot.ini file so the os don't take care of the changes. after regshot i could read the registry changes and i thought (in some way) it loaded "in front of" the kernel display image...
