DVD-RW vs. DVD+RW

I'm curious about the varying DVD formats. Does anyone have any information on them...I kinda want to get a DVD burner in the future (10 months), and I know a LOT could happen in that time, but what do you guys think about it.

If I want to copy a DVD (movie), whats the best format that will be compatible with my DVD player.

I would be interested to hear any and all feedback on any area of the topic....

same as CD makes really. you might get the odd make your drive wont like, or even recognise at all tho.. same as with cd burners.

DVD R/RW Here...I buy generic 25 packs of dvd's from Rimo for $12 and use 'em with neoDVD PluS! 3.0

if your main goal is to copy DVD movies -- check the Documentation that came with your player -- it will tell you the media types that it will play. Mine (for example) will play

CD-R but not CD-RW

DVD-R

DVD+R

DVD-RW

DVD+RW

if you are making backups/data discs - then it doesn't really matter cause you will use the drie that made them to read them....

Buy a stand alone machine that plays and copies with a PC interface. Then your TV and PC are connected to the machine.
