hi,

take the cover off the pc, when the sound starts look at all the fans, are any spinning slowly or anything?

it could just be clogged up with dust and crap, if the heatsink on your cou looks dirty get a vac with an attachment and vac it out, or my personal fave - an unused, clean 2" paint brush!

well.. after looking at them.. my fans seem to be in order.. heatshrink is fine... the sound is coming from the bottom of my case where the fan it located...

edited: actually sound from power supply and fan above :)

PSu get very cloged with dust, when the computer is off get a vacum hose on one end and pressurized air on the other, this might clean the problem right out...

But the fan could be on its way out..so look into that aswell...the PSu fans are one of the main cooling aspect of the computer, so be carfull and make sure u get this fixed.

Good luck

it could be a loose plate, my old power supply rattled, it was the casing on the supply unit, when its making the noise try applying light pressure with your fingers to the PSU housing and to the fans themselves till you find the problem, it could be as simple as a fan isnt scrwed or clipped in properly, or a loose plate on the PSU.

and where the unit is only 6 months old. Is there dust buildup inside the case, are you running the rig without the case, is it on carpet where a vacuum cleaner moves dust into the case? Even a new PC can get dirty inside if any of the above conditions are true. Is it running hot?

after closer inspection.. power supply box side is loose.. i cannot get it to sit proper.. no.. it aint on the carpet.. its sitting in a computer desk unit... above the ground.. allowing my 3 fans (on the bottom, on processor and powersupply) to flow evenly.. highest my pc gets is around 31c.. but normally its like 20 - 25c.. and again.. thanx for your great help :)
