To put REG.EXE in the system32 directory.. don't think anyone mentioned this method (what I use):

Put REG.EXE in $OEM$\$$\system32\

So it will be copied to system32 during the text mode portion of setup.

Yes we know that. But my question was if I use my CD on a Win2000 system already installed which doesn't have REG.EXE in SYSTEM32, How do I make sure I can use it?

the answer is the following:

if not exist %windir%\system32\reg.exe copy "%CDROM%\CD\W2K\reg.exe" %windir%\system32
