Drewdatrip Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Its possible, but i dont know how smooth it would run....maybe if you had a good amount of ram and you didnt install tons of aplications, it might go ok....I think your best bet is Win98 or Win2k=Drew
FthrJACK Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 i think tha Filer installed it on a 486 and it ran "ok"dont expect miracles though. try it and see, failing XP try win2k. or use XP but turn off the visual styles.
gamehead200 Posted October 14, 2002 Author Posted October 14, 2002 I'm running 98 on this machine already, but I still find it too slow. I also wanna get rid of a lot of junk on this machine since it did get a virus a couple of times. If I add more RAM, will I have to configure my system again?
FthrJACK Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 when you install ram you dont have to alter anything or install any software, it would be advisable to change your page file size, but if its system managed (default setting) it will alter itself anyway.just plug it in, turn it on, check its there (my computer > properties. it is listed there) make sure system is stable.. job done.
Aaron Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 It should run fine on a 330MHz, providing you have at least over 32Mb RAM, otherwise it will refuse to install. Win2k shouldn't be too bad on it anyway.

Doggie Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 i installed XP on a 600mhz 64mb of ram and it was quite bad.. it took ages to load up and locked up a lot.. thank god for me 1.1ghz 256mb of ram..

Conan Posted October 15, 2002 Posted October 15, 2002 In my old PC I was running XP Prof. with a Celeron 333mhz with 256 sdram. Windows 2000 was faster on that machine, more so than 98 or Me.
